Ageing and old age in the media and elderly people’s media use

Ageing and old age in the media and elderly people’s media use is a research project financed by the Velux Foundations for the period 2013-2016. 

The project studies the representation of ageing and old age in different media and the influence of media on elderly people’s everyday life. The research questions examines elderly people’s media use and discusses how media influence traditional ideas of ageing and old age. The project is a co-operation between researchers within media studies and cultural gerontology. The research project consists of six individual projects studying the relation between ageing and media in relation to:
