Primary fields of research
My primary research topics are the influence of media on lifestyle and health. In particular I have studied television lifestyle and health programs. Recent years I have studied the media use of older people and how media influence health of older people. Additional research interests concern the interplay between media and fashion, e.g. fashion blogging, and the cultural perception of childhood in various media.
Teaching areas at the BA-level: Film and Media Sociology; Factual Theory and Analysis; Culture and Communication Theory; BA-project seminar.
Teaching areas at the MA-level: Audience and User Studies; Optional Subjects within my research areas; Master Thesis seminar.
I am the international coordinator at the section of Film, Media and Communication.
I am class mentor for 1st year BA students.
I supervise BA- and MA-theses on film and media studies.
Currently I supervise two ph.d.-students
I am heading the research project: ”Ageing and old age in the media and old people’s media use”. Funded by the Velux Foundation (6.5 mio.).
I am coPI on the project: ”Living with Statins. High Cholesterol Values in the Blood” – a cross-disciplinary project funded by the University of Copenhagen 2016 Excellency Program (grant 20 mill. DKr, co-writer of application and head of project 2015-2016).
